Bullet For My Valentine - uitverkocht

Bullet For My Valentine is een Metalcore band uit Wales, die sinds 2003 onder deze noemer doorgaat. In 1998 is de band oorspronkelijk als Jeff Killed John opgericht en toendertijd werden voornamelijk covers van Nirvana en Metallica gespeeld. Vanaf de naamsverandering in 2003 begon de band eigen materiaal te spelen, geinspireerd door bands als bijvoorbeeld het Duitse Caliban. Vanaf 2005 is het balletje pas echt gaan rollen, toen ze door het toonaangevende Engelse magazine Kerrang! als beste nationale nieuwkomer bekroond werden. Hierop volgde het in 2006 uitgebrachte debuut album genaamd "The Poison". Inmiddels is de band ontelbare tours en festivals later een vaste waarde binnen de top van de internationale metalcore. Met de albums "Scream Aim Fire" (2008) en "Fever" (2010) heeft de band een eigen unieke hoogwaardige stijl ontwikkeld. Na de zomerfestivals zal Bullet For My Valentine terugkomen en Tilburg aandoen voor een optreden in de Dommelsch Zaal. Het uit Engeland afkomstige post-hardcore/screamo gezelschap Funeral For A Friend zal de avond openen. Deze band tourde eerder al met iconen als Iron Maiden en zijn beinvloed door bands als Deftones en The Get Up Kids. Escape The Fate heeft onlangs de hele tour met Bullet For My Valentine afgezegd. Instead the band will remain in the states to support their band mate, bassist Max Green, as he enters an undisclosed rehab for drug and alcohol addiction. “Max needs his friends and family by his side, so we’re not gonna leave him,” says lead singer Craig Mabbitt. “Max is one of my best friends and has never done this band wrong in any way shape or form. It's very honorable of him to admit he has a problem and wants to seek help for the longevity of his life and this band. I'm so sorry to the fans, but so proud of Max. He needs our love and support through this rough time in his life, so let's give it to him. Our soldiers never let us down and we will be back to play Europe and the two London dates very soon. We love you guys.” Helaas acht het management het niet mogelijk om de band op deze termijn nog te vervangen.
